This book has so startled me! It has made me examine my heart and my motives. I have never really had the holiness of God explained to me in this way. I never understood why I felt the way I do about certain things in the Lord. Why i feel so isolated from others, because of the way I'm trying to live e for Christ. But on the other hand, how far I am from living from God. He requires holiness from His children, nothing less, and I'm just broken. This book is a must read for every christian! Excellent reading. This is the first of Blackaby's that I have read. All who wish to live in holiness should read this book. Clear and precise.
Convicting, challenging, and humbling! We tend to lost sight of how God views sin and what He demands of His people. I am thankful that Dr. Blackaby reminds us.
It is a short book, but one of profound insight into the Holiness of God and the lack of understanding of the modern day Christian that keeps the power of God from working mightily. Even though it is short on words, it took a while to read while grasping the deep truth about God's command, "...be holy because I am holy."
This book has impacted me because I have minimized my sin instead of confessing my sin to become the woman that God wants me to be. I want to be on the highway to holiness so that others may know God and that our nation can experience a revival. For a small book it will majorly impact your life if you truly want to be like Jesus.
A great book. Particularly the section on how God hates sin. Powerful reminder of how we are to respond to the awesome revelation of God in our lives. Spoke to areas in my life that I must deal with.
This is a practical exposition of the Holiness of God and my responsibility to walk in His Holiness. I read this book and quickly was overcome with my responsibility. I now have an expectation to have the light of God's Holiness illuminate my life.
Henry Blackaby gives a serviceable read on the concept of holiness. The majority of his books reads a lot like "Why Revival Tarries" by Leondard Ravenhill. I don't want to diminish this work by comparing with the Ravenhill classic; both books say in a very provocative way that holiness preceedes revival. Although this message needs to be rung forth for all of Christendom to hear, Blackaby would have done well to describe in more detail just what holiness is, how do we achieve it, aand then tie it in with revival.
